A little about who we are...
For over 20 years, Don Slater and Son's has been the largest importer of Irish Country Antiques in the Northeast. Each trip to the Emerald Isle results in a shipment with over a hundred examples of Irish country craftmanship. Each piece is indicative of the simple design and high functionality found in antique furnishings from rural Ireland. Generally, this vernacular furniture was hand made by a local resident rather than factory produced. Each item has unique characteristics in design which reflects the attributes and styles of the region from which it came.
The Irish Country Pine story begins as old furniture is collected throughout the Irish countryside by the beloved Irish knackers and tinkers. When discovered, the items are usually "falling asunder", in a deteriorated condition with missing pieces and numerous coats of paint. Eventually, these items fall into the hands of local Irish craftsmen who, with plenty of patience and a little stout, restore the items to their original form. The end result is an unique piece of Ireland, which will grace your living environment with beauty and functionality.
Come visit our vast selection of armoires, cupboards, farm tables, Irish dressers, and other indescribable antiques and collectibles that are on display in the expansive showrooms. Container loads arrive regularly, and the stock is always changing. Custom-designed furniture made from reclaimed timber can also be made to meet your special needs.
